Serbia for Work: What You Need to Know Before You Apply

Serbia is becoming a real option for Bangladeshi workers, especially in hospitality, construction, and manufacturing. The process takes longer than Malaysia but it is legal, structured, and the pay is decent.

Serbia for Work: What You Need to Know Before You Apply

Serbia is not the most obvious destination. Most people have not thought about it. But for workers from Bangladesh looking for legal employment in Europe with a real salary and proper contracts, it is one of the most accessible routes right now.

The hospitality sector in Serbia, particularly in Belgrade and the resort areas, has been actively recruiting foreign workers for several years. Hotels, restaurants, and event venues regularly hire for kitchen, cleaning, and front-of-house roles. Construction and light manufacturing are also active sectors.

The work permit process goes through the employer. Your employer applies for a quota position on your behalf. Once approved, you apply for the visa at the Serbian embassy. It typically takes three to five months from the time you sign your employment contract to the time you land.

The salary ranges from €600 to €1,100 per month depending on the role and employer, with accommodation often included for hospitality workers. That is a meaningful income when you factor in lower living costs and remittance potential.

We work with a network of Serbian employers who have hired Bangladeshi workers before. If you are interested, the first step is a conversation with our placement team to see if your profile is a fit.
