Year One: What We Built, What We Learned

We started Yeepix with two people in an office in Banasree and a rough plan. Technology services would bring in revenue while we built out the consultancy side. Eyezona was further out — a brand idea that needed product development before it could go to market.

The technology side moved faster than expected. By month three, we had our first international client, a small logistics company in Malaysia that needed a custom internal tool. That project led to two more. By month six, we had a small but consistent team of five developers.

The consultancy side was slower. Getting the first batch of students through the Malaysia process took longer than we expected because of document delays on the university side. We learned that the process has a lot of dependencies outside your control, and your job is to manage the client's anxiety while you wait.

We opened the Kuala Lumpur office in month seven, primarily to have a local presence for our Malaysia placements. Having someone on the ground made a real difference for students during orientation and the first weeks of settling in.

Eyezona is still in development. The first collection is being finalised and we expect to launch in late 2026. It is taking longer than we wanted, partly because getting the frame fit right for the local market requires more iteration than we anticipated.

Year one taught us that building a company across multiple verticals is hard, and that focus matters more than ambition at the early stage. We are more focused now than we were at the start.
